We will develop mental and written methods of calculation through several mini-topics that will provide authentic contexts for our problem-solving work. Mathematics will be taught during morning sessions and we will be given the opportunity to practise our numeracy skills throughout the curriculum. Spring term concepts include:
Approximation and estimating.
Ordering and comparing numbers.
Rounding numbers to the nearest 10, 100 and 100.
Measuring and converting measures (mm, cm, m).
Data Handling - Pictograms, Venn diagrams, Carroll diagram, charts, tables and graphs.
Time - Digital and Analogue, 12-hr and 24-hr clocks, calendars.
Adding and subtracting money up to £10.00 and finding change.
3, 4 and 6 times tables.
