In Year 6 we promote the Five Ways to Wellbeing. A display board in the area focuses our attention on positive thinking in Year 6. We have thought carefully about ways that we can improve our wellbeing by discussing ways that we can:
- Be Active
- Keep Learning
- Take Notice
We will start the year with a visit to Crucial Crew. This will give us the opportunity to learn about lots of different organisations that help us to stay fit and healthy. We will also receive visits from the Fire Service and the Police, both of which will help us learn how to stay safe.
The Spring Term will provide an opportunity for us to visit Hilston Park where we will take part in team building exercises, hill walking, canoeing and climbing. We will follow this in the Summer Term with an intense three-week swimming programme that will provide expert tuition for all!
All of these exciting experiences support and enhance our class work, which includes gymnastic sequence work, team games and dance units! We will also be given the opportunity to learn about growing up and how our bodies will change as we move onto secondary school.
