Learning Intentions

In the Autumn Term we will be becoming ambitious, capable learners as we explore our project 'Exciting Egyptians'. We began our project with an immersion day; we became archeologists and visited Tutankhamen's tomb, created Neme headdresses like the Pharaohs, performed Egyptian dances and explored hieroglyphics. Year 4 collectively decided on learning opportunities they would enjoy and how these will fit into our 4 core purposes.

Some of the activities we will conduct during this topic are;

  • Investigating places of importance in Egypt and use mapping skills to plot accurately.
  • Studying the Egyptian hierarchy and specific job roles.
  • Exploring key events in Ancient Egyptian times and their order.

Thank you to many families who have contributed many special artefacts that have added authenticity to our learning experiences during this project.

We are really looking forward to our visit to The Egyptian Museum in Swansea Tuesday 15th October, where we will be taking part in many workshops.

As a church school, we particularly enjoy a broad and exciting RE programme. Year 4 will adopt many Christian values. The children will explore the life and teachings of Jesus and learn about the importance and the messages of the Bible .
