FURTHER UPDATE - 11.00 a.m.
Newport Norse have attended site, run a variety of checks and established that everything is safe. The boiler has been reinstated and school life can get back to normal!
However, the school is unable to provide lunch today.
School will re-open at 1.00 p.m. today for pupils (16.11.17).
Once again, we thank you for your understanding and support and apologies for any inconvenience caused.
The Fluenz Immunisation scheduled for today will be rearranged and you will be provided with the new date shortly.
UPDATE - 9.45 a.m.
There was a slight smell of gas detected this morning in the boiler house before 8.00 a.m. As a result, staff followed protocol as if it was a suspected gas leak. All policies and procedures were followed correctly and the gas was turned off.
An engineer has visited site and isolated the boiler. We are currently awaiting a visit from Newport Norse to conduct further tests and inspect boiler with a view to it being reinstated.
Once again, thank you for your understanding and support at this time. As always the safety of pupils is our paramount concern.
We have a slight problem with our boiler today, which is why you are asked to keep pupils at home until further notice. Regular updates will be sent via text message and posted on the website. Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.
We politely request that you refrain from ringing in for further information as we need to keep the line free. Thank you for your understanding at this time.
