Clothing for Physical Education and Games

All children are legally required to undertake physical education and games and, therefore, need clothing for these activities which are different from their daily wear.  The correct dress for each activity will go a long way to creating the positive attitude to physical activities which we hope to encourage in our pupils.

Parents often ask for guidance when buying games kit and the following are offered as a suggestion.

Boys - black/navy shorts, white tee shirts, trainers/plimsolls, (swimming costume - older pupils)

Girls - black/navy shorts (not cycling shorts), white tee shirts, trainers/plimsolls, (swimming costume - older pupils)

In cold weather, children can usually wear tracksuits for outdoor activities.  Gymnastics and dance lessons are undertaken in bare feet.

Any pupil who is unable to take part in a games or P.E. lesson must have a note of explanation from a parent or guardian.

Wearing Jewellery

The wearing of jewellery can be highly dangerous in the school situation not only to the wearer, but to other pupils too.  Therefore, no jewellery whatsoever is to be worn in school, except for a wrist watch.  The Governing Body is determined to enforce this rule for the greater safety of all our pupils.  Parents are requested to ensure that we have 100% compliance in this matter.  Plain, hypoallergenic silicone studs are an acceptable alternative.  Please ask at the office for more information.
